There is a mismatch between today's education system and the world's demand as well as the classic views on what true education is. Our vision is to create a world where every person is truly educated in the sense that they are capable of forming independent thoughts, in following their curiosity and discovering answers to problems rather than being spoon fed the answer. We help students to muster the perseverance and the resourcefulness that are needed for the formation of ideas and knowledge. The role of the teacher in this vision is not to cover the materials and syllabus in the classes, but let the student discover them on their own.
We believe in the power of online technologies to bring this vision to fruition and provide true education on a massive scale.

Applicants for grad school from this university's Electrical Engineering program are well known to American universities, such as MIT and Stanford for their talents and superior education. In this interview they praise this program and school as the best in the "world".
Sharif has produced brilliant minds like that of Maryam Mirzakhani, the first woman ever to win the fields medal (the equivalent of Nobel prize in mathematics)
Concours: In 2005, the 450,000 university applicants studied for concours for one or more years to partake in a four hour exam on 7 subjects: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Persian Literature, English, Arabic, & Religion
The better their ranking, the more prestigious program they could choose. The most prestigious in 2004 was Sharif University and its Electrical Engineering program. Usually only the students with a ranking under 100 can be confident they will be admitted.
Olympiad: In 2004, for the national Physics Olympiad, only students with a GPA over 95% where allowed to compete in the Olympiad qualification exams. From the resulting pool of 10,000 students, only the top 40 were admitted for the summer program. These highschool students needed to be well versed in complex topics sometimes beyond what was taught in engineering programs in universities. They would prepare for these exams by self study of thick reference books in Physics and perhaps school bootcamps.

NODET and its schools in Tehran (Allameh Helli for boys, and Farzanegan for girls) have produced brilliant minds. Maryam Mirzakhani, the first woman ever to win the fields medal (the equivalent of Nobel prize in mathematics) was an alumnus of Farzanegan. She was a two terms gold medal winner in the International Math Olympiad as well.
A high percentage of these students in their later years get admitted to the most prestigious university programs in Iran, namely among them Electrical Engineering at Sharif University. In 2005, about 30 students from Allameh Helli were admitted to this program at Sharif.
